Brenda Diaz Advances to November General Election for Montgomery County Board of Education At-Large
I’m honored, deeply humbled, and grateful to Montgomery County families and taxpayers for your support in helping me advance to the November general election for the Montgomery County Board of Education At-Large seat.
As a gifted and talented student from the Bronx and a 20+ year veteran teacher, I am focused on rebuilding academic excellence as our foundation in MCPS, establishing real school safety, supporting our teachers, ensuring responsible budget allocation with transparency as a guiding principle, and treating parents and community watchdog organizations as the partners they are. Yesterday’s results show that message resonates across every neighborhood and community in this county, regardless of party affiliation. I stand with you.
I want to thank every parent who knocked on doors, every teacher who shared their story, and every voter who looked past the noise and the manufactured fear to focus on what actually matters: the children of Montgomery County Public Schools.
From the beginning, this race was not easy. We faced outside PAC spending and political pressure aimed at silencing an independent voice. Nevertheless, voters showed up.
Between now and November and beyond, my focus will remain on asking hard questions, finding solutions to close the achievement gap, and creating the culture and practice of accountability our 160,000 students deserve.
A republic, if you can keep it. Montgomery County, let’s keep it together!
